I'm so very sorry to hear of Les' passing. I just found out from Will. I will always remember with great fondness our conversations whether it be about his family or cars. I'm so very sorry!!!
Les was a dear friend of my father's. He was a truly generous and trustworthy businessman, because he had a beautiful heart. I loved that he could diagnose a car problem by the description of the sound. I also remember my dad describing a sound from our aging car and Les telling him to turn up the radio. I also remember the smile he had when telling us that Dorie was engaged or telling us that there was a new grandchild.
I worked at the Ark for 12 years, and Les had the contract for our many vehicles. He - and all of "the boys" - were always so kind and professional. We got full-service (wow!) and they took great care of us. What a kind man, and an important part of - and blessing to - the Laramie community. My condolences to you all.
When we moved here 16 years ago, I asked my boss who was the best mechanics in town, the most honest and he immediately said Les. He spoke the truth! We only took our vehicles there and it was like stepping back in time in the best way. Les always greeted us with a smile, Mark and Dave always did great work, and I always knew when I drove away that my vehicle was fixed and at a fair price. Honesty, integrity, and pride in their work is what Les and the crew stood for.
Our deepest sympathy to the Perkins Family. Les was one in a million. He will be missed.
Les was the most considerate and trust worthy businessman I have ever dealt with. When my children were teenagers, Les and Dave inspected all our potential car purchases for free. He told us that was his way of knowing what potential service problem we would have if we went ahead and purchased a vehicle. Les was loved by his family and friends; it is with a very heavy heart that we offer our deepest condolences.

Christine Clemennts I was a single mother of a daughter and worked as a waitress at the Brown and Gold and later at the Outrider. I always had second hand cars and Les would tell me when I needed to look for a new one or if it was practical to fix what was wrong with my present car. Since he knew I had to be at work by six in the morning, and would lend me his old truck if my car was in his shop. My daughter and his son had some classes together and he often told me that our children would be okay. He was truly an honorable and honest man and it was my pleasure to have known him.
I was saddened when Steve told me that Les had passed. He was always welcoming when Steve and I met him at the station, in his garage workshop or at breakfast. He used to enjoy teasing Steve about being a good host on my annual visit to Laramie. I enjoyed several years of classic car calendars before Les retired. He was always willing to accept packages I shipped to myself at the station when I had to mail hunting supplies in advance of the trip. I will continue to remember Les fondly. My condolences to Steve, Kevin, Dorie, Dave, Johnny, Mark, Kathleen, Kelly and the rest of Les's family at his loss. I know you will miss him. I pray God's blessing, comfort and strength on all of you
What can you say about this man!. I have known Les and his family since 1969. All I can say is that he and his family are some of the nicest, friendliest and honest people I have ever known. Les certainly raised his family right. It was always a pleasure to go visit them at the shop. It was like the tv show Cheers. Everyone knows your name. Les and his boys (including Dave Gallegos), would always take care of you with a smile and the work was top notch. You knew without question that what they told you about your vehicle was the truth. I was saddened when Les and Mark closed up the shop. It was the end of an ERA!! I truly miss that wonderful place. So Dave, Dorie, Mark and Steve, I am very very sorry for your loss. Take comfort in knowing that you were blessed in being raised by one of the best man I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. God Bless.
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Les. My condolences to Steve, Dave, Mark, and Dori and all the families. You all had such a wonderful, kind, and caring Father. He will be greatly missed. We enjoyed talking to him at your picnics and the help with the trees. May God be with you all during this difficult time.
