Shirley Hancock

Shirley Hancock, age 92, died June 6th at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper WY. She was born on March 11, 1931, in Milwaukee, WI.She spent her younger years in Wisconsin and Minnesota where she met her husband, Heman. They were married and had three children while living in Minnesota. They moved to Laramie, WY in the early 60’s, where she lived until her death. She was very proud of her position as Executive Assistant to the Dean of the School of Health Sciences at the University of Wyoming. She enjoyed taking her children skiing at the Snowy Range. She also was a very accomplished seamstress and knitter, enjoyed line dancing and bowling, was a member of the League of Women’s Voters and was active with the Senior Center, She was also quite famous for her delicious homemade cinnamon rolls.Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Florence Schaufler, her husband ,Heman Hancock, Daughter Gail Phelps, and brother Glen Schaufler. She is survived by her two sons, Jeff and Todd (Debbie) Hancock, Grand daughters Tiffany Phelps and Shaunie (Wade)Kingston, Great Grandchildren Colton and Maze Kingston, and brother, Kenny Schaufler.  There will be no funeral services per Shirley’s request.
