Rose Marie Flieder

Rose Marie Flieder (Arp) September 11th, 1929-January 26th, 2025

Born to William and Lillian Arp in Laramie, Wyoming, where she was raised and attended high school. She left to attend nursing school in Hastings, Nebraska. Where she graduated and became a Registered Nurse. She practiced in Laramie at the old Ivinson Hospital for around twenty years. She was very proud of this accomplishment and loved telling stories of how the times changing, changed nursing.

She met William J Flieder while he was stationed at FE Warren AFB. They then married on October 1, 1953. They then traveled with the military until William’s final stop back at FE Warren. Rose opened a Ceramics business in West Laramie and became a national certified Ceramics Instructor. She loved creating and having fun with all her students and friends. She continued this for forty-five years before selling and retiring. She never really stopped creating even after retirement. She continued making jewelry and crafts at home to keep herself busy.

Rose also loved to read and play games with friends at her place of residence. She loved everyone and didn’t know a stranger. She had the biggest heart of anyone around, yet was stubborn in her own way, which made her even that much more of a treasure. Rose attended Cornerstone Church in west Laramie where she enjoyed helping with the children’s room and loved the time with her friends there.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband William J Flieder, parents William and Lillian Arp, sister Betty Baker, Grandson Brant Hartnell and several, aunts, Uncles, and close and dear friends.

Rose was such a sweet lady. I met Rose when I first moved to Laramie. My mom helped Rose with her ceramic business. I had a chance to do some of the ceramics myself. Rest in peace Rose. Bless her family

Rosie and I were more like sisters than cousins. We both attended Laramie HS. At times we would walk the Railroad tracks in west Laramie to downtown. Rosie graduated from H.S. early and we went Nursing School in Scottsbluff at the same time. We used to travel to dances in the area with Uncle Pete. We would dance and dance at Elk Mountain, McFadden and in Rock River. We'd dance for hours while the Sims boys played music. Grandpa Henderson worked at the Union Pacific Railroad. He used to feed us 15cent hamburgers at the Depot. We truly enjoyed our life growing up together. You are missed God Bless you, we all Love you!!

My Great Aunt Rosie was a true Gem! I have so many Fond Memories of being at her Ceramic shop as a small child with her Sister Bette (My Grandma ) & I still have these Amazing Ceramic Pieces that we made. She had the Best Sense of Humor and a Heart of Gold. I miss her already, but Heaven gained a Beautiful Angel, and she can reunite with her Family!
