Lydia Ann Warren

Lydia Ann (Glass) Warren was born June 11, 1930 on the farm northeast of Benton, Kansas to John and Maude Glass.  She went her first eight grades to a one-room schoolhouse where she had the same teacher all eight years. She then went to school at Whitewater High School in Whitewater, Kansas and graduated in 1948.

At the age of 14, she met Wayne, the cute red-headed boy who ended up being her husband. They dated all through high school and married September 11, 1949.  Four children were born in five years and their family was complete.

In 1951 they moved to Wichita, Kansas where she raised her children until 1968 when they moved to Manhattan, Kansas.  She enjoyed K-State Athletics, boating and water skiing on Tuttle Creek Lake.

In 1981 they picked up and moved to Laramie, Wyoming to be close to the mountains.  Lydia Ann enjoyed camping, cross county and downhill skiing, snowmobiling, and University of Wyoming Athletics. She was an excellent cook, and her children and grandchildren will greatly miss her chicken and noodles, biscuits, pie crust, cinnamon rolls, Swedish tea ring, and pepper nuts.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, attending every time the doors were open if she could.

She died on October 31, 2016.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Lewis Glass.

Lydia Ann is survived by her husband of 67 years, Wayne Warren; her children, Gene Warren and  his wife Kim, Arlene Kuehl and her husband, Andy, Nancy Warren, and Marvin Warren and his wife, Rebecca; her nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Glass; and her many nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
