Tom and I worked together at Interfaith. He thoughtful and thrifty when it came to his leadership. It is rare that a man with his particular military background, had the capacity to use his organizational skills to serve Interfaith so long. He is running to cadence in heaven as I write this. Healing to the family.
My memory of Tom is when he stopped to visit in Chicago in 1981. He noticed some things which needed fixing. He went to the local hardware store for supplies. He then fixed everything in an afternoon. My condolances to family. Ruth Martin sister-in-law
As Executive Director of Interfaith, Tom was very professional, resourceful, helpful, and knew who to talk with when finding services and community resources for our mutual clients. My heart goes out to his family. His genuine smile and conversational wit will be missed!
Tom was 4 years older than me. Tom my dad and I used to go hunting together. Most times we never got anything but it was always nice to hang out together. When we were little he always looked out for us. I remember some people stole our bicycles off the back porch, he went out looking for these people and brought them back. That is the type of person he always was. We are so sorry for your loss.
Tom was my older brother. I was pretty young when he left home to join the Air Force, so I never spent a lot of time with him, but when we did get together he made me feel like I was his best friend. He had a way of doing that with most everyone. I wish I got to know him better. I am happy that he had a wonderful wife and daughter and granddaughter and great grandchild! I know I will see him again!
Our condolences to the Martin family. Cliff and Ginny Smith
