Lydia Josephine Smith was born and died on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. She was deeply loved from the moment she entered the world. Lydia passed away a little over an hour after her birth, leaving a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who had been waiting to meet her.

Though Lydia’s time with her family was heartbreakingly short, her life was precious and her place in her family is forever. She was a beloved daughter to Weldon and Emiliana Smith and a cherished little sister to Naomi and Elizabeth. She is also survived by her grandparents, Rudy and Kathy Aguilar, and Jeff and Marilee Smith.

Lydia’s family is grateful for the many people who have prayed for them, loved them, and supported them through the loss of their beautiful daughter and sister. Her life, though brief, has touched many people and will never be forgotten.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Calvary Church Laramie, 520 Grand Avenue, Laramie, Wyoming. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:30 p.m. The family requests that attendees consider wearing the color Purple instead of black.
