Mark Steven Essex

Mark Steven Essex, age 72, of Laramie, Wyoming, formerly of Milford, Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Laramie Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on May 16, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Robert and Patricia Essex.

Mark was a dedicated pharmacist whose compassion and expertise touched countless lives throughout his career. He was known for his great sense of humor, always ready with a witty remark. Mark appreciated a good conversation with friends and family.

He found joy in the outdoors, whether hiking or simply enjoying the beauty of nature. Mark also had a passion for art museums, appreciating creativity and culture wherever he traveled. Family gatherings were especially important to him, and he loved nothing more than sharing laughter and good food with those he loved—especially if Mexican cuisine was on the menu.

Mark is survived by his loving family including his wife Teresa; his daughter Kirsten; his son Kevin with wife Ellen and grandchildren Sean and Elizabeth; his son Adam with wife Nicole; his son Daniel with wife Debbie, and grandson Dakota; his stepdaughter Fawn with husband Glen and granddaughter Lucy; his stepson Ryan; his sister Judy with husband Bruce Lavash, and his sister Becky with husband Dave Jones as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A service will be held at a later date in Milford, Ohio.

He loved to talk about his family and the early years when Sister Mary George was in charge of the hospital. We started at Mercy in May of 1988.
