Keith Glenn Sanborn was born on August 11th, 1943 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Leona Marion Neff and Bryan Burns Sanborn. He left us the morning of July 28th, 2026 after a courageous battle to renal cancer.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Carolyn (Bill) Cagle, Colleen (Richard) West, and his first wife Judy Bullock.
Keith is survived by his wife Linda Sue Sanborn of Laramie, Wyoming, his children Darla (Tim) Schermerhorn of Laramie, Bryan (Diane) Sanborn of Brighton, Colorado, Shara (Jake) Mendoza of Walla Walla, WA, Shawnda (Steve) Price of Timnath, CO, Mark (Bree) Overholt of Parker, CO, his younger brother Bryan Neff Sanborn of Wyoming, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom he was very proud of and loved very much.
Keith graduated from Laramie High School in 1961. The weekend after graduation, he left directly for Fort Ord, California, to serve our country in the Army National Guard.
Keith was an avid train enthusiast, enjoyed traveling, camping, and fixing things!
He liked to say he worked in the “people moving” industry. He recalled watching the Greyhound busses going up and down Grand Avenue as a kid and saying to himself, “I would like to do that someday.” And he did exactly that! He started out driving for Colorado Motorways doing sightseeing tours. He later worked for TrailWays Bus Lines and eventually landed at RTD. Here he continued his profession for 25 more years, both as a driver and instructor. His final driving days were here at the University of Wyoming. He was a 50-year member of the Amalgamated Transit Union.
Keith was a member and Master Mason of “The Free Masons” fraternal organization. He volunteered his time, services, and provisions to those in need for much of his lifetime. His large, empathetic heart always strived for serving others, and most often anonymously.
Keith will be remembered by all who loved him for his witty sense of humor. His advice and words of comfort were often disguised in proverbs, quotes, and idioms…helping all of us to make sense of our sometimes chaotic world. These proverbs we will forever quote, laugh in memory of, and heed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 15th from 1-4pm at the Laramie Railroad Depot, 600 S. 1st Street, Laramie, Wyoming.

Keith was a great guy. I worked him and Linda at the UW bus. He taught me how to drive and deal with the routes and tech stuff. I’ll miss him.

Such a lovely obituary. I knew him as a child, as his oldest daughter was my best friend and they lived across the street from us. I spent a lot of my childhood playing at their house. I remember riding on bus trips that he drove with his children & the minor league baseball team to games . I remember them always having a great Halloween party. He raised three great children, and it was always fun to hang out at their house. He will always be remembered as Mr Sanborn to me. Susan lefever Hanson
I was fortunate to have met Keith through his brother, Byan. I also had the privilege of sitting in on many of their morning phone conversations I always got a good chuckle from the stories Keith would tell and share he truly sounded like someone who had lived a full meaningful life My deepest sympathies go out to his family during this difficult time I know he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him
