Lynne Louise Pulley

Lynne Louise Pulley

10-26-1943 – 08-29-2023

An animal lover and lifelong advocate for agriculture, Lynne Pulley will be missed by her friends and colleagues. Lynne was born in Glendora California. She met her life partner Ron Pulley while at the University of the Pacific and they were married on September 6, 1964. She began her lifelong passion for dogs at an early age and continued to love all animals her entire life. Lynne spent many years as a professional groomer as well as a Bedlington Terrier and Afghan Hound breeder. Her favorite picture was of Senaka, one of her Afghans.

Lynne Pulley loved anything related to fiber, knitting, and textiles. She was a keen knitter and spinner. Lynne spun yarn from a variety of animals including her dogs. She was an avid gardener and was a certified master gardener. Lynne gave freely of her time and talents to many Torrington and Laramie organizations including the Wyoming Master Gardener group, the Laramie Fiber Guild, and the Goshen County Cattlewomen.

Lynne and Ron moved to Wyoming and lived in Cheyenne, Huntley, and in 2004 moved to Laramie. At their farm in Huntly Wyoming they raised Scottish Highland cattle, yaks, and a heritage hog breed known as Mulefoot hogs. Lynne loved her Highland cattle and was proud of the yak-cattle crosses that they produced.

The proximity of Ron and Lynne’s ranch in Huntley to the University of Wyoming Agricultural Experiment Station at Lingle Wyoming, coupled with their passion for agriculture, led to a long-standing partnership with the experiment station and the University of Wyoming College of Agriculture, Life Sciences, and Natural Resources. The Pulleys first became involved with the UW College of Agriculture after receiving a grant for meat research related to yaks. This partnership lasted until her passing.

Lynne was preceded in death by her husband Ron and her parents. She is survived by her sister-in-law Lynette Black. During their lifetime, Lynne and Ron created two funds benefiting the Agricultural Experiment Station and the college. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to the Seneka Graduate Assistantship Fund or the Rapid Response Agricultural Research Fund at the University of Wyoming Foundation, 222 S 22nd Street. Laramie, WY 82070.

Lynne and Ron took us under their wings with our first Mulefoot Pigs and later more breeding stock, equipment, lots of lovely emails and visits. We miss them dearly. We still breed Mulefoot and have passed on their love and devotion to the breed to many families. Our deepest sympathy, Jill and Eric Skokan
