Jonathan “Jon” Louis Saputo

Jon Saputo, 61, of Laramie, passed away on December 25, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Jon had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. From a young age, he hunted alongside his brothers Joe and PJ, and his stepdad Al. After moving to Wyoming, Jon continued the tradition with yearly hunting trips alongside his brother PJ, stepdad Al, and of course Tiki—trips they eagerly anticipated every fall. He spent much of his free time in Fox Park, Wyoming, enjoying the company of some of his closest friends.

A true sports enthusiast, Jon often had two televisions set up side by side so he could watch multiple games at once. His favorite sport was NASCAR, and he especially enjoyed the excitement and unpredictability of the races.

In June of 2016, Jon married Pam Schroeder. They were truly the loves of each other’s lives. Through this marriage, Jon became a devoted stepfather and grandfather to Joseph Smith (Kayla) and grandchildren Riley, Darian, Austin, and Sierra; Tyson Smith; Kyle Smith (Briana); and granddaughter Aubrey. Jon shared a special bond with his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and proudly called him “Papa Jon.”

These passions were where Jon found peace and happiness. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and deep love for his family—especially his grandchildren.

Jon is survived by his loving wife, Pam Saputo; his parents, Carmella Roberts (late husband, Al ), Pete Saputo and Elaine Mitchell; his siblings, Joe Saputo (Jana), PJ Saputo, and Ali Hayes (Shawn). And extended family Stacey Nordstrom (Garth), Nancy Willson, Dave Mitchell (Cathy), and Lisa DeWindt (Leo).

Jon was preceded in death by his stepdad  Al Roberts; grandparents, Frank and Rose Saputo, and Vito and Eve Palumbo.

Jon’s memory will live on through the stories shared, the traditions he cherished, and the many lives he touched.

A message from his brother, written from the heart:

“Rest in peace, my brother. You will be deeply missed” PJ

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Jon’s life on Saturday, January 10, at 2:00 p.m. at the VFW.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Jon’s memory to make a donation to the WyCo Volunteer Fire Department in care of WYCO VFD Associates Inc.
