Justin Ray Herrera

Justin Ray Herrera passed away on April 14th in Laramie, Wyoming. Justin was born on April 20, 1980, a birthday he shares with his twin brother Jeremy Eugene Herrera.

 Justin grew up in Laramie and California. As an adult, he worked in construction and concrete. Justin loved the outdoors. Justin spent many days in the summer camping, fishing, and enjoying time with family. Justin had a contagious laugh with a smile that will forever be cherished. The family was very important to him, he held them close to his heart. Justin’s children were his pride, and they held his heart. Justin was always so proud of each one of them. Children in the family loved when Justin was present, he had no problem joining them, having Nerf guns wars, chasing them around the house, and playing video games.

Throughout Justin’s life, he touched many lives with his kindness. He was always there to lend a helping hand to his family and friends. Justin had a kind heart and his bear hugs will always be forever remembered.

Justin was preceded in death by his father Robert (Bobby) Leroy Herrera, mother Brenda Matteson, great grandfather and great grandmother Abedon & Rosita Herrera, grandfather Rosendo Herrera, and grandmother Frances (Lara) Pacheco, great aunt Delores (Herrera) Gonzales, and Uncle Paul Matteson.

He is survived by his wife Lahonna Marie Herrera, his children Alivia Ray Herrera, Isabella Grace Marie Herrera, Ava Ray Herrera, Justin Ray Herrera Jr., Alina Jo Herrera Destinee Jones, Rielee Jones and Alysia Wright; his grandchildren; great uncle Evan Herrera, sister Brandee Jean Herrera, brothers Jeremy Eugene Herrera, Steven Scott (Ray Scott), grandmother Donna Stockton, Aunt Gwynn McMillen, nieces Payton Rylee Jean Stuart, Omayma Scott, and Haylee Nevaeh Herrera, and nephew Lawson Gene Herrera, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022, at St. Paul’s Newman Center. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home.

    I remember when Jeremy and Justim were little and we watched them. Jeremy would stay with me Justin would go on adventures . Be it in the dog food or getting in the cupboards.
