Randy Lynn Anderson

Randy Lynn Anderson, 69, of Laramie passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at his home in Laramie.

Randy was born June 8, 1954, in Laramie, Wyoming to Lucile (Wood) and Herbert C. Anderson of Walden, Colorado. He spent his childhood on the family ranch, near Walden, graduating from North Park High School in 1972. He received an associate’s degree in photography from Colorado Mountain College in 1974 and completed his bachelor’s degree in general agriculture from Colorado State University in 1978. Randy went on to work at the University of Wyoming Extension office as the agricultural extension agent of Carbon County. In 1982 he married the love of his life, Betsy (Elizabeth) Lodge, in Boulder, Colorado. Randy and Betsy then moved to Laramie in 1985 where they started their family.  The move also allowed Randy to work at the state office of cooperative extension, based at the University of Wyoming, and work towards his masters in instructional technology at the UW College of Education, graduating in 1989. After retiring from the College of Agriculture in 2011, Randy went to work at a number of part-time jobs around Laramie, including the transportation department at Albany County School District 1. He loved 4-H, clocks, judging county fairs in Colorado and Wyoming, but mainly his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Hannah Marie and his brother, Frederick. He is survived by his loving wife Betsy, son and daughter-in-law, Westley and Megan Anderson, daughter and son-in-law, Kaycee and Bowen Ragland, his beloved grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth and Benny Mo Ragland, his brother and sister-in-law, Philip and Debbi Anderson of Walden as well as aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 8th, 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Laramie. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Randy’s name to your local 4-H Club or the First United Methodist Church of Laramie.
