Curtis Wendell Simonsen

Curtis Wendell Simonsen, 75, of Laramie, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Ivinson Memorial Hospital. He was born in Portland, Oregon to Charles William and Lillian Bertha (neé Bacher) Simonsen on July 4, 1944.

Curtis worked as an Engineer in Las Vegas, NV and worked on slot machines. He also flew as a private pilot. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking and enjoyed playing the slot machines.  He was a very loving and kind husband and jokester.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lillian Simonsen; his brother, Charles J. Simonsen and wife, Mary; and his sister, Luanna Waldron and husband, Art Waldron.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lani Lyn Simonsen of Laramie, WY; his son, Luke Warren Simonsen and daughter-in-law, Daisy Magsayo from the Philippines; his sister-in-law, Jennie Underwood and brother-in-law, Tim Underwood from Sugarland, TX; his niece, Alexandra Underwood from Sugarland, TX his parents-in- law, Rosalio and Rosita Amit from the Philippines; his daughter, Jane Simonsen Dunlavy, from his first marriage to Shirley Ball, from Broomfield, CO; his grandchildren, Amanda Dunlavy from Offerle, KS, and Lyndsey Wagner and her husband, Alex from Loveland, CO; his niece, Kelley Simonsen from Las Vegas, NV; his nephews, Mark Simonsen from Longmont, CO and Jay Simonsen from Broomfield, CO; his cousins, Norman Walker from Connecticut, Jean Falotico from Wilsonville, OR, Gloria Sheridan from Salem, OR, Kermit Buchannan from Vancouver, WA, and Merodee Smith and her husband, Bill from Indio, CA.; family friend, Stephanie Tiffany from Colorado Springs, CO; long time friends, James Carothers from Walden, CO, Curt Hedge from Oklahoma, Patty from Boulder, and Mary and Cliff from Delta, CO.

Celebration of Curtis’ Life will be announced at a later time.

Memorial donations may be made in Curtis’s name to the American Cancer Society.
