Byrnina “Bee” Jones

Byrnina “Bee” Jones passed away at the Hospice of Laramie August 27, 2018 after a valiant two year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Byrnina Alma (Blakeslee) Jones was born to Hubert Jason and Gertrude (Simmons) Blakeslee on August 24, 1933.  She grew up in Evergreen, Colorado and graduated from Evergreen High School in 1952.  She was a certified Dental Assistant working in Evergreen for Dr. Leonard Wheaton.  August 9, 1970 she married Fred R. Jones.  Bee and Fred moved several times living in Hooper, Colorado, Duchesne, Utah, Lewis, Colorado  and Elephant Butte, New Mexico.  They were avid horsemen running pack trips and enjoyed the Appaollsa horse club in Duchesne.  After retirement they spent the winters in Elephant Butte where they were involved in the sailboat club and many sailboat activities.  During the summers they lived in Evergreen in the farmhouse where she grew up, which was built by her great-grandfather.

Bee was an avid conservationist, bird  and animal lover, and was born with a green thumb.  She enjoyed traveling with Fred; they went sailing in the Sea of Cortez and around the San Juan Islands, traveled to Maine, Wisconsin and all over the western states.

Bee was preceded in death by her parents, husband, nephew Jason Blakeslee and niece Jeanne Turley.

Bee is survived and greatly missed by her brother, Kenneth Blakeslee and sister-in-law, Ruth of Grand Junction, Colorado, a sister Leona Turley and niece Susan Adler of Laramie, Wyoming, a nephew Ric Turley, three step children – Patsy Lyons, Perry Jones and David Jones, several cousins and many friends.

In compliance with Byrnina’s wishes there will be no funeral service.  In lieu of flowers donations to the Hospice of Laramie,  1754 Centennial Drive, Laramie, Wyoming 82070 would be appreciated.
