
William C. (Bill) Donaghy, beloved father, grandfather, and educator, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, 2025, in Laramie, Wyoming. He was 84 years old.
Born on January 27, 1941, in Fresno, California, Bill devoted his life to learning and teaching. As a longtime professor at the University of Wyoming, he inspired generations of students over a career spanning more than 25 years. During his tenure, he taught more than 7,000 students, leaving a lasting legacy through his passion for education and commitment to his field.
Bill is survived by his children: William Scott Donaghy (Tracy), John Brian Donaghy (Tiffany), and Kathleen Marie Donaghy; by his cherished grandsons: Niel, Jake, and Dillon; and great-grandson: Julian. His memory lives on in the lives he touched—as a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, mentor, and friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Altitude Chophouse and Brewery in Laramie, Thursday, June 19, from 4 pm until 7 pm. The family suggests donations be made in his honor to a scholarship fund or educational charity of your choice.
Bill’s life was one of quiet dedication, thoughtful guidance, and enduring love. He will be deeply missed. He was a kind man, a great father and grandparent, and a friend to all who knew him.
