Tia Marie Reed

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Tia Marie Reed, age 53, who was born December 17, 1971, and passed away September 16, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Tia’s kindness, strength, and joy touched all who knew her.

A lifelong Wyoming resident, she was born in Cheyenne and raised in Rawlins. Tia earned her master’s in special education from the University of Wyoming and spent many years shaping young lives in the Laramie School District. She was also highly respected for her work as a certified orientation and mobility specialist, empowering individuals who are blind to live more independently.

Tia embraced adventure through camping, hunting, fishing, and traveling, and she proudly completed the Wyoming Cutt-Slam. Above all, she was deeply cherished by her family for her selflessness, joy, and love.

She is survived by her husband, Shawn; children, Josh (Kailey) and Brittney (Colton); parents, Mark and Deb Kordus; and siblings, Misti, Beth, and Butch.

A memorial service will be held September 28, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home in Laramie.
