Swannette “Swann” Marie Campbell (née Eberharter) was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on January 25, 1959. She passed away at her home in Laramie on December 10, 2025, at the age of 66.
Swann spent the majority of her life in Cheyenne, where she graduated from Central High School in 1977. She built a long and dedicated career with Blue Cross and Blue Shield, where she worked for 49 years. During her decades of service, she worked in many departments and became known as a delight to her coworkers. Her deep experience and knowledge made her a valuable trainer to many employees over the years. Swann especially enjoyed working with major accounts and research, and she took great pride in the quality and care she brought to her work. Following her retirement, she moved to Laramie, Wyoming, where she embraced a new chapter of life.
In April 1984, Swann married Thomas Montoya, and together they welcomed two children, Briana and Dustin. Thomas and Swann divorced in 1995. Later, in November 1999, she married her soulmate, Shayne Campbell, gaining another son, Michael, through their marriage.
Swann was devoted to her family and embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. She loved motorcycles, car shows, adventures with friends, and good music. Her trademark laugh—boisterous, unmistakable, and full of life—was recognized instantly by all who knew her. Her bright smile and vibrant presence could light up any room.
Swann is survived by her husband, Shayne Campbell; her children Briana Montoya (Brooke Benson), Dustin Montoya (Teya Montoya), and Michael Campbell; and her grandchildren Rayne Smith (Zane), Sawyer Conklin, and Kai Montoya. She is also survived by her loving mother-in-law, Sharon Hargraves; her siblings Bobbie Warehime (Leonard), Linda Daniels, Michael Eberharter; siblings-in-law Troy Campbell (Melissa), and Michele Hollister (Steven); as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepparents, and father-in-law.
Swann will be dearly missed, but her legacy, laughter, and story will live on through all who loved her.
In accordance with her wishes, Swann requested no services. In lieu of flowers or cards, she asked that donations be made in her name to Levi’s Legacy, an organization that supports families of children with congenital heart disease—something especially meaningful to Swann because her grandson Kai was born with CHD. My favorite Auntie. Everyone always wonders where I get my crazy from. Well, my auntie was crazyyy. And not in a lunatic type of way, just a crazy way. An always being the life of the party, make you laugh, doing and saying crazy shit type of crazy. She was THAT one. And it's what I loved most about her. I will miss her laugh the most! Where do I even Begin ? Swann you we're the sweetest person I have ever met in this world or another, We met through different circumstances and the moment we connected we became a big family.you always made everyone feel loved and you always had open arms for a big hug. I am at a total loss. Such a dear and sweet lady has been lost far too soon. Shayne and Swann came into my life in a rather different way, but the bond that developed is inexplainable. Meeting for breakfast that first time at Johnson's Corner with Swann in a walking boot, seeking out a parking block to stand on to hug my neck because "I was too tall" is a day that is forever stuck in my memory. Swann always had the best hugs. Swann, you will be missed deeply by so many people. I will do all I can to keep Shayne out of trouble. Blessed journey dear lady, sending you one last hug.

I am at a loss for words, numb and in shock. I keep hoping I'll wake up and this would all be just a bad dream. My heart hurts, I didn't even get to hug her one last time, I didn't get to tell her I loved her. Aunt swann you were my favorite aunt, you believed in me when Noone else did, you encouraged me and gave me advice when I needed it, you also gave me that one good butt chewing when I needed it also. We shared alot of good times and great holidays. Im gonna miss your laugh and your smile. Im gonna miss your hugs and your social skills.
