
Steven Florian Drietz, 58, of Laramie, Wyoming, died Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Hospice of Laramie. He was born April 11, 1967, in Winsted, MN to Florian Drietz and Barbara (Hamerlinck) Drietz.
He married Frith Ann Jones at the Flying Y Ranch on August 22, 1997. Steven had a storied background from artist, Chef, handyman, assisting with ranch duties at the Flying Y Ranch, ghost hunter and smoking various food products. He was also an occasional magician (when he wasn’t nervous). He loved building things to tinker, and carving. These carvings were created from various mediums, created from a wide range of materials, each offering unique characteristics and aesthetic appeal. including wood, food, and recyclable materials. Steve’s motto was “Get to work!” But he is known for his caring and compassion and making sure everybody is okay, and everybody had what they needed.
He is preceded in death by his father, Florian Drietz, mother and father in-law, Sandra and Webster Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Frith of Laramie; siblings, Mona Roller (Edward), Melissa “Missy” (William) Stuart, and Aaron Drietz (Callie); loved brothers and sister -in-law, David Jones, Drew (Kathy) Jones, and Carolee (Raymond) Harvey; nieces and nephews, Philip Drietz, Marshall Stuart (Payton), Lily (Zachary) Minton, and Kaleb Drietz.
Memorial services will be held at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home with Aaron Drietz officiating on July 24, 2025, at 3:00 pm. Reception at the American Legion following services at 411 Ivinson Avenue will be held at 4:00 p.m.
Burial at Greenhill Cemetery on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Steve was such a nice guy, used him at work at my residence for handyman things. Always happy and plesant, went out of his way to say hi and talk. He will be missed.
