Sherri Lesa (Freeman) Dimit

Sherri Lesa (Freeman) Dimit 59, passed away on January 3, 2020 in Cheyenne, WY with her loving husband and children by her side.

Sherri was born on January 20, 1960 in Medicine Lodge, KS to Claude and Bobbie Freeman. She was the youngest of four children and the only girl. She grew up in Lake City, KS and attended grade school in Sun City, KS. She graduated high school at Medicine Lodge High School in 1978.

Sherri attended college in Dodge City, KS where she met the love her life Scott Dimit. They were married on August 18, 1979 in Medicine Lodge, KS. They lived in Pratt, KS for ten years where they grew their family. Chadd was born in 1983 and Ashley in 1985, they were her world. During their time in Pratt, KS she worked at the local nursing home as their kitchen manager.

In 1989 Sherri and Scott moved their family to Big Piney, WY. While in Big Piney Sherri worked as a cook on the Mickelson Ranch (Circle Cattle Company) where she created meals for crews both large and small. She was not only a loving mother to her children but to the animals that needed extra motherly care such as bum calves.  After years of working on the ranch Sherri decided to work at the local Mini Mart (Loaf N’ Jug) where she excelled her career to Manager and obtained many awards for her outstanding sales and service. Sherri continued her managerial skills and training through various jobs. In 2015 Sherri and Scott relocated to Cheyenne, WY to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

Sherri was the epitome of a loving mother and wife. She enjoyed going to her children’s sporting events and talked about her children to anyone who would listen. She also enjoyed the outdoors including fishing, camping, hiking and had a sweet tooth for a s’more around the campfire. Sherri was known wherever their adventures took them for her cooking skills. She could always be found creating a large feast while calling it small gathering. Sherri had a special connection with rescue dogs and would treat them as her children. Sherri’s true calling was being a grandma, she carried pictures wherever she went to show anyone who might take a glance. Addison, Bowen, Benjamin and Casen held a special place in her heart. She was always planning their next adventure where it be reading a book or outside in the park. Sherri was a very giving person and touched many lives throughout her life.
