Marty Ray Carter passed away in Laramie, Wyoming on August 17, 2025. Born on January 24, 1959, in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, he was the son of William Thomas Carter and Dorothy Lee Carter. Marty had two siblings, William (Billy) Thomas Carter and Cynthia (Cindy) Christine Carter (partner Tracy). He was married to Kelly Carter for 34 years. Marty had 5 boys to raise: Jacob Carter (Tiana), with Granddaughter Ivy Mae Carter; Donovan Carter (partner Jennifer), with grandchildren Arabella Carter and Darius Carter; Jonathan Dederick (Katrina); Stanton Carter, and Dylan Carter. Marty loved his family, playing with his grandchildren, fishing, and hunting. He had a love-hate relationship with the pipeline industry, where he made his mark nationwide. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 14, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Residence Inn by Marriott at 5450 McWhinney Blvd. in Loveland, Colorado.
Marty was a classmate who was known for being onrey . Even in grade school he was getting into trouble. In 6th grade he was one of several boys who got a “public” spanking in front of the whole class. Marty was an amazing athlete also. Who knows where that would have taken him in life if partying wasn’t his number one pass time. I have fond memories of him and hope he found Jesus Christ (the person, not the cuss word, which Marty was also good at). Much love to you all, Sherry
