Jayne Broyles

Jayne Adair (Robertson) Broyles was born November 18, 1925, in Casper, WY. She passed on May 6, 2024, in Laramie, WY. She was raised in Cody and Cheyenne and graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1943. She attended the University of Nebraska and the University of Wyoming, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority.

Jayne married Marshall Broyles in Cheyenne on August 30, 1947. After college, lived in Cody for three years where Marshall started his teaching career, and they started a family. Cheyenne became their home when Marshall began teaching in the Laramie County School District. Jayne worked for Wyoming Children’s Home Society, the State of Wyoming Bank Examiner, and Dale Oakes’ Engineer Building Specialists. She was an office manager for the National Chiropractic Examiner’s Office in Cheyenne.

Jayne is honored with 80 years in Chapter Z PEO (1944) and was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 80 years. She was a lifetime member of the Women’s Civic League and volunteered for the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Meals on Wheels. 

Jayne is survived by sons’ Marshall E. (Max) and wife Sue, David (Georgia); daughter Sara (Dave) Axelson; five grandchildren Sarah and Sam Case, Lysa and Jeff Burianek, Michael, Aubrey, and Mark Broyles, Jill (Gerard) Axelson Geis; her great grandchildren Joey Deleon, Keaton, Montgomery, and Sophia Adair Case, Bailey Jayne Burianek, Jennifer Wilber, Sawyer and Sutton Broyles; niece Pam (Jim) Robertson Williams, as well as her nephew, Kirk Robertson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marshall E. Broyles Sr. who died November 20, 2006; parents Alpha “Peggy” and Ray Robertson; and her brother Robert Ray Robertson, along with many dear friends.

Jayne will be remembered for her sense of humor and graciousness. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. Her optimism was a driving force in her life and longevity. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 10:00 A.M., at Schrader Funeral Home in Cheyenne, followed by a reception.
