
David Foote of Fort Collins, CO unexpectedly passed away in a car accident in Laramie, WY, on Thursday April 2, 2026.
David was born in Minneapolis on April 5th, 1989, to Randy and Julia (Wax) Foote, David grew up in Eden Prairie, MN and graduated from Eden Prairie High School in 2007. He attended St. Cloud State University, in St. Cloud, MN, before moving to Colorado.
David moved to Fort Collins, CO in August 2016, where he attended Fort Range Community College, in Fort Collins, CO. He graduated in the spring of 2022, with an associate’s degree of Arts. David then transferred to, Colorado State University, where he was just a few months away from graduating and earning a bachelor’s degree in data Analysis.
While David was studying, he worked in banking at US Bank and Elevations Credit Union in Loveland, CO. He also volunteered at his church and helped with data analysis projects.
David especially loved the Rocky Mountains, where he would hike, fish, and camp with his Dog, Barkley. When David came back to Minnesota, he loved the North Shore area. He especially enjoyed the Superior Hiking Trails and many waterfalls in the area.
David had a love for God, Family and Friends. He made friends easily and shared his loving kindness with anyone he met.
David is survived by his parents, Randy and Julia (Wax) Foote, his sister, Jackie (Foote) Burford and his brother-in-law, Danny Burford, his niece, Cadence Burford, his grandmother, Doris Pearson, his uncle Paul Wax (Judy), Aunt Sheila (Wax) Kaufer (Jerry), Aunt Barb (Foote) Bergstrom (Ted). He is also survived by many cousins and many friends.
David is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lynn and Mike Wax, Warren Foote, and step grandfather, Lee Pearson.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on, Thursday April 30th, 2026, at St. Victoria Catholic Church, in Victoria, MN at 11am. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service, with a luncheon to follow the service.
A private family burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of plants or flowers memorials are preferred.


I’m the driver who found you buddy, I’m glad I could get a name to the face. I hope fishing and hiking is plentiful where you rest, rest in peace, Friend. I was praying for you all night after I left the scene.

I am so sorry to hear of David’s passing. Went to high school with him in EP and we hung out and played video games quite a bit. He was a fun guy. He’s remembered well. My deepest sympathy to all of the family.

Julia, Randy and family We are never ready when God decides to call our loved ones. It is hard to accept that they are gone from this earthly life. They are still with us in our hearts and we have wonderful memories. They are never really totally gone from our lives. We will always love them and treasure the time that we had them.
