Dauna J. McBride

Dauna J. McBride, of Laramie, Wyoming, passed away in the early morning of June 28, 2025.

Dauna was born in Afton, Wyoming, and was the third child to Sol T. and Melba ( nee Astle) Baldwin on January 9, 1943.

After graduating from Rawlins High School in Rawlins, Wyoming, she married Kendall McBride on July 19, 1961, in Denver, Colorado.  The couple renewed their vows and their love for each other on July 8, 1980 and again on March 29, 1995.

Dauna was the owner and operator of the grocery store in Saratoga, Wyoming, before moving to Laramie, Wyoming, in March of 2003. Shortly after, Dauna was Endowed on November 1, 2003 to Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

During her life, she served many callings for her church, was a member of the Laramie Homemakers and a past Guardian of Bethel Guardian #30 in Saratoga.  Her favorite Bible verse through her life was from Matthew 7:1, “Judge not, that ye be not judged”.

Dauna was a life-time member of Soroptimist International and the Order of the Eastern Stars of Saratoga.

It was known that her favorite colors were anything bright. That brightness was only outshone by the love shared with her very large family.

Dauna was preceded in death by her husband, Kendall McBride, infant daughter, Theadosha McBride, who passed on the day of her birth, January 14, 1968; her sister Bonnie (Bill) Spicer and cousin, Ken (Fran) Gardner, who was raised as a brother after the passing of his own mother, and her sister-in-law Caroline Vyvey.

She is survived by daughter Kay Lynn (Glenn) Hammer of Laramie; her sons Dutch (Jamie) McBride of Cheyenne, and Shaun McBride (Kim), of Saratoga; grandchildren Kristine (Jim) Ninnemann of Laramie, Steffen (Courtney) Hammer of Laramie, Kara, Kendall and Karson McBride of Cheyenne, Bradley, Chelsea, Cassi, Kaylee, Lacy, and Sam; great-grandchildren James and Cameron Ninnemann, Madi, Easton, Riley, Jaiden, Avery and Coley; her brothers Roland (Sue) Baldwin of Valders, Wisconsin, Bernell (Sandy) Baldwin of Batavia, Wisconsin, Eliwin (Roxie) Baldwin of Saratoga, Fred (Parry) Baldwin of Kemmerer; cousin Tom (Kay) Gardner of Torrington, who was raised as a brother; many nieces and nephews; and her brother-in-law Larry Vyvey of Saratoga and his children, Trudy and Randy Bernatow and Pam and John Hornbeck.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3311 Hayford Ave Laramie, WY with a visitation starting at 9:00 a.m.

Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 3, 2025 at the Saratoga Cemetery in Saratoga, WY.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Laramie and/or Soroptimist.
