Dale Vernon Dunn, 94, of Laramie, Wyoming peacefully entered Heaven’s rest just one day shy of his 95th birthday surrounded by his family on August 11, 2026.
Dale was born August 12, 1931 to Joe and Virginia (Stephens) Dunn in Holyoke, CO but Venango, NE is where his family called home. At 12, Dale’s family moved to Laramie where he attended LJHS and LHS, graduating in 1949. Following graduation, Dale served in the US Air Force from 1951-1955 as a flight crew mechanic stationed in Guam. He returned to Laramie after his time in the service and joined the family business, Dunn’s Coffee Shop where Dale met the love of his life, Pauline Huff. They were married August 31, 1955 and shared 65 years of marriage and together raised 5 children. In the early years of marriage, Dale worked for Bailey’s Conoco Station and UW in the evenings until 1966 when he found his true passion working as an HVAC Journeyman for Laramie Heating & Sheetmetal with Ace Brummond, his lifelong friend. In 1983, Dale and his son, Warren, purchased A&R Metal Products where he would continue his HVAC work until retirement in 1996.
Dale was an avid hunter and fisherman loving his time in the mountains. He also enjoyed spending time in his garden tending to his strawberries and flowers. Dale was a member of First Assembly/New Life Church for over 60 years and leaves a legacy rooted in unwavering faith, steadfast love, and the wittiest one-liners that brought a smile to everyone that knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pauline; his sons, Don and Warren; his son-in-law, Shaun Kelly; his grandson-in-law, Justin Lairscey; and sisters, Eileen (Jim) Meister, and Margie (Carl) Hungzinger.
He is survived by his sister Lois (Larry) Irving; his children, Patty (Roy) Byers of Laramie, Cindy Kelly of Laramie, and Rick (Connie) Dunn of Opal, WY; his 14 grandchildren; and his 26 great-grandchildren; and 2, great, great grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, August 20th at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 21 at New Life Church. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with military honors. Reception to follow at New Life Church.

My sweet, sweet Dale...oh, how I will miss him!! He brought so much joy and purpose to me! I am beyond thankful that my life was blessed with such a wonderful man and his family! I know where my dear friend is now and what a joyous reunion he is having with his beloved! I pray the family has peace and comfort with Dale's departure from them. From us. Please, know that I will forever have a special place in my heart for Dale and his loved ones!!
