Clarence E. Smith, 87, of Laramie died peacefully at the Saratoga Care Center on Saturday, July 9, 2016.
Smith was born on Oct. 31, 1928 in Laramie to Mabel and Ben Smith. He was one of 12 children, six girls and six boys, raised on the Middlecreek Ranch north of Laramie. He attended school in Bosler and Laramie.
Smith worked on various ranches in Albany County and Carbon County and Banner and Associates in Laramie before starting and operating Summit Trucking Service in the mid-1950s. He moved houses in Wyoming and Colorado for approximately 40 years. His son, Dan E. Smith, operates the company today.
After retiring from house moving he worked for Three Sons LLC and the University of Wyoming in the physical plant, retiring in 2013. He was named Wyoming Mechanic of the Year while working for Three Sons LLC.
Smith married Alice G. Kelly Feb. 6, 1961, and helped raise her three children Kathleen, Tammy and Shaun. Clarence and Alice had one son together, Dan. 
Smith was preceded in death by his son, Shaun Kelly, as well as his parents, and several brothers and sisters. 
Smith is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice, daughter, Kathleen Johnson (Peter), daughter Tammy Barkhurst (Les) and son Dan Smith (Julie) in addition to 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Walt Smith, Gilbert Smith, Vernon Smith, Gwen Bergman and Hazel Conway as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
No funeral services are planned at this time. A small, family service is to be held later this year. 
Memorials may be made to the Meredith and Jeannie Ray Cancer Center, 255 No. 30th St, Laramie, WY, 82072 or the Corbett Medical Foundation, PO Box 343, Saratoga, WY, 82331, for its end-of-life care facility.
