Cassandra Jean (Albaugh) Brock

Cassandra Jean Brock (Albaugh), age 63, of Laramie, WY, passed away on August 1, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.

A time of remembrance to share memories of Cassandra will be held from 4:00pm – 5:00pm on August 12th followed by a Celebration of Life at 5pm at the Laramie Train Depot.  The family will provide barbecued meats for dinner and ask friends to bring an appetizer or side dish to share.

Cassandra was born in Peoria, Illinois on August 18, 1959. She graduated from Lewiston High School in Lewiston, Illinois and continued to receive a Bachelor of Science from Central College in Pella, Iowa and her Masters of Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Cassandra was married to Greg Brock on November 12, 2011; they were married for 11+ years.

She worked at Ark Regional Services as an instructor for the last 4+ years.  Being an educator was her passion which took on many roles.  While she loved every role she had in her career, she was most proud of being the ELS – Spanish Director for the Natrona County #1 School and later for the Wyoming Department of Education.  Also, she helped develop the SALSA curriculum in the state of Georgia.

Cassandra loved spending time at her and Greg’s property north of town, stargazing, being with her friends and family, a good BBQ with her famous margaritas, all of her fur-babies, and spending time with her grandson, Bodey, exploring and making memories.

Cassandra is survived by Greg, her husband; Oralia Albaugh (Ruiz-Casillas) her mother; Randy Albaugh, her brother; Lisa & Brent Brock along with her grandson, Bodey; Rogelio (Roy) Celeya Jr & family, her stepson and grandkids; Rudy Celeya, her stepson; Derrick & Denver Brock, stepson and grandson; Derek Albaugh, nephew; Tanner Albaugh, nephew; and other loving family members.

Cassandra was preceded in death by her father, Dave Albaugh, and other loving family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Ark Regional Services in Laramie, WY in her name.

Words I wanted to say at the celebration of life, but was too shy to do so. Cassandra was all love. Pure and simple. Those who knew love were attracted to her kind and loving heart. Cassandra was gentle, compassionate and always giving. She spoke of her dear family members greatly from the first day I met her until the last day we spoke. She absolutely adored and loved Lisa, Brent, Bodey and Greg - I know so many wonderful stories about all of them. It is completely surreal to me that she has passed from this life. Why do those who are so gentle, so giving leave us too early. The only thing I can think of is that she made a difference in more lives during her short time on earth than most of us will do in an entire full lifetime, thus she was to move on to do greater things, things we all can only dream of. May we all spend the rest of our lives as Cassandra did, by always touching the hearts and souls of others. Until we are together again my loving friend, you will forever be in my fondest memories, Kristine
