Brody James Bowlds passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and his dog on June 24th, 2026. Brody was born May 30th, 2012 in Cheyenne, WY to his parents Scott and Holly. From a very young age he was a caring, thoughtful, and loving kid that would help anyone, in any way he could. Brody had a love for many things during his short time here with us. He loved spending time with family, enjoying ranch life with his dad putting out mineral and fixing fence, going on adventures all over with his mom even if it was a hike he wasn’t super excited about, enjoying fun outings with both families full of laughter and memories made, hunting with family and friends, and simple BBQs surrounded by those that loved him. He loved watching his siblings play sports including softball, baseball, and volleyball. He also enjoyed spending time his cousins with a lot of memories made. Football was most certainly his passion. “Do your Job” #58. He enjoyed spending time with his friends as well, most likely gaming and playing sports. Brody made a strong impact on our community and was known for his hard work, compassion for all, and demonstrating kindness to all those he encountered. After being diagnosed with leukemia in January 2026, he signed up for the hardest battle he could ever face. For six months, he fought the good fight, never batting eye, and would say “Let’s go, I’m ready”. When he was told the cancer was too strong despite all the treatment he endured, he looked bravely at his medical team and said, “I’m going home to be a kid”. He touched so many people throughout his life including his medical team. Life will never be the same without Brody, but his legacy and love for all will.
He is survived by his dad, Scott Bowlds (Amanda Sullivan) and his mom, Holly Horpestad (Chris Chamberlain). Siblings Lauren Chamberlain, Brecklyn Sullivan, and Bryson Sullivan. Grandparents Felicia Kelly and Tom (Cammy) Horpestad. Great grandma Faye Horpestad. Aunt and Uncle, Randy and Angela Bowlds, Aunt Elizabeth “Libby” Bowlds and Aunt Courtney Lopez. Cousins Dominik Trenchard, Christopher Bowlds, Paige Horpestad, Ryan Horpestad, and Asher Rowan. He is also survived by many extended family members and close friends that were family to him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jim and Cathy Bowlds and great-grandparents, Jean Bowlds, Fred Horpestad, and Harriett Kelly.
Celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 25th, 2026 at the Foundation Builders Community Center, 804 DalIy Ridge Road, Laramie, WY. Family request that you wear orange or pink to honor him. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donation be made to Jason’s Friends Foundation in Casper, WY.
oh Brody you were one of my bestest friends. always caring about everyone and every small thing im gonna miss our calls and trolling on roblox with crumpet. you always brought a smile to my face and lightened the mood so quickly, you will forever have the biggest spot in my heart i will forever thank you for being here for me and everyone else when times were tough even though you already had alot going on. Brody was the sweetest, kindest person you would ever meet. He knew how to cheer me up when i was sad every single time without fail. He changed my life and made sure he was my friend when no one else would be. He was the perfect example of a big heart. He will be remembered in our hearts, minds, and words. Rest easy big brody, you were beyond loved by everyone who knew you.
In 6th grade, I was told that my dog passed away and I walked into band bawling my eyes out. Brody checked in on me and said, "goodbyes aren't forever, you'll see him again." I wish I could've made some time with brody, he was a good friend. Im terribly sorry Scott and Molly...
Brody was truly an amazing person. He always had a smile on his face and I never saw him sad or angry. He had the purest and kindest heart, truly an amazing person. He had an amazing talent at football and playing the saxophone. He will be truly missed. Long live Brody Bowlds.

There are no words to express the sorrow of heart and the depth of grief in this time of loss. Even though Brody is at peace in the arms of our Lord, that doesn't change the hurt endured by those left behind. He was well and truly loved and his beautiful shining light will be missed. Brody was the kind of kid who could make you feel better about anything. He always wanted to help. I played baseball with him for many years and one year I didn't have cleats that fit me and Brody being himself, offered me some of his to borrow for the season. Little things he did made big impacts on all of our lives. Speaking for the many friends and family members of mine he touched, we thank you and love you big dog. May you stay forever young friend.

In his short time on earth he touched many lives and we are the better for having known him. He played left tackle which is fitting. The left tackle is the linchpin of the line. He is the protector, the heart, and the soul of the offensive unit. That was Brody. Coach Deti now has an integral piece for the “Belly 33” Brody was a good and loyal servant to the Lord. Today he is at peace and pain free. He was raised by love. He died surrounded by love. Now he is bathed in the love.
