Barbara “Bobbie” L. Sapp

Barbara (Bobbie) Sapp, 88, passed away at home on March 4, 2025 in Laramie, Wyoming while surrounded by her family.

Barbara was born on October 16, 1936 in Pine River Township, Minnesota to Floyd R. And Stella Elyea Skeesuck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Sapp, parents, and siblings Mayetta Steffen, Pearl Alexander and Dorie Alexander. She is survived by her siblings Twyla Laughlin, Jim (Mavis) Skeesuck and Linda (Rod) Simons.

Bobbie moved to Fort Worth, Texas where she later married Merle Sapp on April 6, 1956. The couple moved to several locations including Hamilton, OH, Grand Rapids, MN, Brookfield, IL, and Westminster, CO. Bobbie spent her life devoted to her husband, their five children, and her church. She was a kind and loving support as a pastor’s wife during Merle’s years in the ministry for the Church of the Nazarene.

While raising her family, Bobbie took a great interest in her family ancestry. She spent the last 50 years of her life doing extensive research to obtain records and documentation regarding her family history as Native Americans. As a final act of love, Bobbie’s wish was to leave her family with a book about belonging to the Narragansett Indian Nation and the Brothertown Tribe of Wisconsin. Bobbie was able to send her final draft to print shortly before her passing. The book is titled “Our Tribe – The True Story of the Skeesuck Family”.

Bobbie is survived by her children Linda (Greg) Simpson of Laramie, WY, Vicki Moore of Westminster, CO, Larry (Donna) Sapp of Washington, UT, Sandy (Greg) of Fairplay, CO, and Lori Suppes of Commerce City, CO.

Bobbie took great joy in her grandchildren, Becky Simpson, GW (Shasta) Simpson, Sarah McGhee, Erika (Eric) Mizell, Daniel McGhee, Jess (Tommy) Bradley, Andrew (Savannah) Lagunas, Jeremy Lagunas, Bri (Travis) Doolittle, and Ryan Suppes.

Bobbie’s great-grandchildren Bella, Mai, Chase, Braxton, Travis, Coop, Ella, Z, Jordan, Amelia, Elli, Aubs, Kins and Evie brought her continuous love and laughter. She simply delighted in their presence.

Graveside services will be at 11:00am, Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Greenhill Cemetery in Laramie, WY.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice of Laramie, 1754 Centennial Drive, Laramie, WY 82070.
