Agnes Rayda

Agnes JoAnn Rayda passed away on July 7, 2025, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado at the age of 94.

Agnes was born in 1931 in Crosby, North Dakota, the 11th of 13 children born to George and Anna Fleck. She married Richard Arthur Rayda in Torrington, Wyoming in 1948, and together they settled in Laramie, Wyoming.  Agnes led a rich and fulfilling life raising their five sons, supporting Rich’s real estate business, hosting numerous gatherings for friends and clients, and remaining active in the Laramie community delivering Meals on Wheels, communion to the homebound, and volunteering at Ivinson Memorial Hospital. She held an officer position in the Wyoming Catholic Women’s Council and was a long-time member of both the St. Mary’s Group and the St. Laurence O’Toole Catholic Church.

Agnes will be remembered for her warm heart, optimistic spirit, and deep love of family and friends. She was a kind caregiver, loving wife, devoted mother, cherished friend, and a source of steady support for many.  Her love of music, especially polka and traditional Christmas carols, will be long remembered by her family.  Agnes found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: visiting over coffee outside in her garden, reading a good mystery, watching her favorite westerns, laughing while playing games after dinner, and sharing meals with others.

Agnes is survived by her sons, Roger (Julie) Rayda, Randy (Mark) Rayda, Russel Rayda, daughter-In-law Sheri Rayda, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, her siblings, Frank (Ann) Fleck, and Clarence (Marlene) Fleck, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.   She is preceded in death by her husband, Rich, and her two sons, Ronald and Roman Rayda.

A Rosary service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 14th at St. Laurence O’Toole Catholic Church. Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15th at St. Laurence O’Toole Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.
