Jeffrey L. Brummond

Jeffrey L. Brummond age 59, passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on July 4th. Jeff was born in Minot, North Dakota to Arlyn and Leone (Forbes) Brummond on December 8th, 1957. From there the family moved several times before landing in Laramie and making it their forever home. Jeff attended public schools in Laramie and was active in FFA raising hogs and sheep, and won State Grand Champion. After graduating Laramie High School, he attended a Sheet Metal Workers’ Apprenticeship Program and earned his Journeyman’s License.   He then went on to work with his father in the family business, Laramie Heating and Sheet Metal, for many years until his declining health prohibited him from working. Jeff married his high school sweetheart, Angela Smith, in 1981 and had 3 children, then later divorced. At age 40 Jeff was diagnosed with brain cancer and has had many health struggles since then.  Jeff enjoyed football, camping, riding ATVs, hunting, and driving his great grandfather’s 1918 Model T, but none of those compared to the time spent with his 3 grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by grandparents Maynard and Violet Brummond, George and Edith Forbes, and infant brother William Brummond.

Survivors include his children Brendin (Karagh Murphy) Brummond, Ashlyn (Dan) Courtwright, Josh (Brandy) Brummond, grandchildren Leighton and Landree Courtwright and Rowan Brummond, parents Arlyn (Ace) and Leone Brummond, siblings Linda (Andy) Johnson, Donna Lambert, Doug (Beth) Brummond, Mary Brummond, several nieces and nephews, and his faithful canine companion, Levi.

Funeral services will be Friday July 14th at 2:00pm at Montgomery- Stryker Funeral Home with a memorial reception to follow at the Kenny Sailors Gym in the Civic Center.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Laramie (1754 Centennial Drive, Laramie, WY 82070) or Gifts for Living (P.O. Box 1005, Laramie, WY  82073).
