Amanda Casas

Amanda Casas, 34, of Elko Nevada, passed away on May 22nd 2025 after a long battle with cancer, a beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend.  Amanda’s life was a powerful testament to resilience, compassion, and transformation.

Born to Brandie Roylance and Lali Casas, Amanda faced many challenges in her early years, through her strength and determination she overcame adversity and devoted her life to helping others do the same. After achieving her own recovery Amanda became a guiding light for her clients at Vitality Unlimited, offering support and guidance to those struggling with the same issues she had overcome.

Amanda had a playful, competitive and positive spirit, a no-quit mentality, and deep empathy for people.  The playful, competitive, and positive traits were on display when she went toe to toe with coworkers and friends to find the most easter eggs during an office party (she won).  Or randomly singing the first line of a song while her coworker sang the next line too various people at her office.  Her no quit attitude showed when she completed a 12 mile ruck event in Reno during her chemo, and just a month before surgery to repair her hip and leg (she refused to quit).  And her empathy was evident with her clients as a peer and mentor, many of whom sent tributes to her work when they learned of her passing.

Her coworkers admired her strength and dedication. Her clients remembered her not just as a counselor but as someone who believed in them and cared about them. Her family cherished her transformation into a remarkable woman who spread joy and inspired those around her.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Brandie Roylance, whose love and memory Amanda always carried with her.  Amanda is survived by her grandmother Patti Roylance and her father Lali Casas, along with many other relatives and friends whose lives were touched by her spirit and courage.

Amanda lived with purpose and determination until the very end, continuing to work, live and uplift others even as she faced her own illness. She taught us that redemption is possible, that no one is beyond grace, and that even in the face of life’s greatest challenges, we can still choose to love, grow, and give.

Her life was cut short, but she filled every moment with meaning, and she did it her way. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A memorial will be held by her family at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home with a reception to follow at the First Christian Church’s fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Amanda’s honor to Hope Lodge at the American Cancer Society at https://www.cancer.org/
