Steve Sencabaugh was born in Laramie, Wyoming on October 30, 1954, to George Edward Sencabaugh and June Ann (Sundby) Sencabaugh. During his childhood he enjoyed being a Boy Scout and enjoyed Junior League Baseball with his dad as his coach. In 1967 his family moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, because of his dad’s promotion with the Union Pacific Railroad. Steve married Joann Cashman from Rawlins on March 25, 1981, and her son, Michael Hamblin, who Steve helped raise and loved him as his own son all his life. Steve spent most of his life as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved spending time in the mountains with his wife and son. Steve made friends everywhere he went and was loved by a lot of people.

Steve is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Cassandra Hamblin, and his sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Rudy Nesvik.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joann Sencabaugh and brother David Sencabaugh.

 A memorial service will be held at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
