Wesley Wayne McMullen, 50, of Laramie, Wyoming, passed away on May 15, 2026. He was born on July 16, 1975, in Sidney, Nebraska.
Wes was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Shanna McMullen, and his daughters, Dylan and Tatum, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his brother Darrel and his wife, Kim, and their children, Torie and Brady; his brother Craig; and his sister Lacy McMullen and her husband, Kerry Krompel, and their children, Dalton and Zoey. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends he considered family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrel and Zelma McMullen, and his grandparents.
Wes earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming and most recently worked as an operator at Platte River Power Authority. More than any title, he will be remembered for the way he showed up for others. Whether something was broken or someone just needed a hand, he was often the first call and the first to arrive. He took quiet pride in helping and gave freely of his time, energy, and heart.
Those who knew Wes will remember his quick wit and sharp sense of humor, balanced by a steady loyalty that never wavered. He built deep, lasting friendships and a circle of “brothers” who knew they could count on him, just as he counted on them.
Wes found joy in the outdoors, especially fly fishing and hunting, but nothing meant more to him than his daughters. He was so proud of the young women they are becoming, and the example he set will stay with them in ways both big and small.
Wes leaves behind a legacy carried forward in the lives of those who loved him, especially in the daughters he cherished so deeply.
In true Wes fashion, we remember him with a bit of his humor and spirit: “I’m your huckleberry.”
Services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Laramie Railroad Depot.
In honor of Wes and the love he had for his daughters, friends wishing to contribute in his memory may make donations to support Dylan and Tatum’s future education and opportunities. Account is held at ANB Bank.

Having known Wes since his childhood , I always saw him as very likely person to succeed . He was innovative smart as a whip and like his mom and dad had a good heart . May god bless his family and loved ones with wonderful memories .
