Vickie Jean Gifford

Vickie Jean Gifford, born to Margaret and Arthur Gifford on March 22, 1954, peacefully began her new journey October 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Vickie enjoyed travelling with her soulmate, Monte Ellis. They began their life long love story on March 20, 1974 and remained deeply devoted to each other until her very last breath.

Vickie was known for her kind and welcoming nature and ever-present smile, even in the face of the many difficulties she faced in life, and in her younger days was known to be an avid equestrian.

Vickie is survived by her life partner, Monte Ellis of Laramie, Wyoming; Children: Corey Gifford (Christal), Monte Ellis, Jr (Kim) and Stacey Foster (Sean); Siblings: Ed Gifford (Margie), Clara Tanner (Bobby), Mary Joy, Bill Gifford (Kim); Grandchildren: William, Melannie, Echo, Alysha, Kolton, Camryn, Casandra, Natalie, Connor and Lucas; and great-grandchildren: Madison, Kimber, Addalynn, Hunter, Jackson, Liam, Killian, Vyretta, Edwin, Sophya, and Liliana.

There will be a viewing October 21, 2023 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm at Montgomery-Stryker with a reception to follow at the Eagles from 4 pm to 6 pm.  All are welcome to celebrate Vickie with us.  A celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date in the Lovell/Cowley area.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Vickie’s name to the MS Society, Breast Cancer Awareness and/or Hospice of Laramie.

I was very fortunate to be able to help take care of Vickie! Her glass was always full! She laughed at herself and her struggles while living in a wheelchair! Always looked forward to our weekly visits!
