Steven L. Palmer

On Thursday, June 17, 2021, Steve L. Palmer, loving husband and father of 5 children, passed away at the age of 67.

Steve was born on October 30, 1953 in Hot Springs, South Dakota to Chuck & Bernie Palmer.  He graduated from Laramie High School in 1972.  While in high school Steve was a member of the swim team. He won the Wyoming Industrial Arts Award for the 3 dye reloading press that he built. He also enjoyed making beautiful wood furniture that is still used to this day.

He married Cathy Southards in 1973 and were later divorced. From this union they had 3 children.  On October 2, 1982 he married Jama L. Barnett and raised 2 children.

He was a jack of all trades.  He could operate any piece of equipment easily and had a knack for building anything from his imagination, even if it was at his own risk. He was of the old school where a handshake meant something. He made friends wherever he went and would give the shirt off his back if someone was in need. He could brighten up your day with his teasing, lighthearted banter. He had a deep love for his family, the outdoors and his church.

When he was 25 he accepted the Lord as his Savior.  From that day forward he had a strong desire to share his faith with others.

Steve was preceded in death by his son Wesley, his father Chuck, his sister Cheri and brother Mike.

He is survived by his wife Jama, his mother Bernie, his four children, Cody (Shauna) Palmer, Jonie (Shannon) Markle, Chris (Chrissy) Palmer, Aimee Beatty and 17 grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2021 at Cornerstone Baptist Church will a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Greenhill Cemetery.
