Kolten Scott Moss

Kolten Scott Moss, known affectionately as “Moss” to his buddies, left this world on May 8, 2018.  Traveling home from college on Tuesday he was involved in a car accident.  Kolten was born on July 11, 1999 in Laramie, Wyoming to Brenda Alexander and Gary Moss the third of three children.  He had a drive and a passion that led him on so many paths.  Rodeo, football and wrestling were a large part of his life in which he developed many friendships.  He was set to start on his next path as a recruit of the United States Marines with boot camp a bit over a week away.  He is survived by his parents, his brother Dylon, sisters Megan and Carla Moss, nephews, James and Gary Martin, his grandmother Mary Alexander, and his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at the Rock River School Football Field at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, May 15th.  The family welcomes friends and family to join them after the services at the family home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Kolten’s name to the Justin Honken Memorial Scholarship at the Western States Bank, 3430 E. Grand Avenue, Laramie or 5538 Yellowstone Road, Cheyenne.

The message is clear be safe, hold those you love close, and call your mother.

To Kolten’s family,
I was Kolten’s bus driver on many trips. I’m so sad to hear of his passing. He was a person of great ambition and will to do well. God must have needed him more than our world did, but it’s hard to understand. You are in my prayers.

My condolences to the family! I remember what a happy and fun person Kolten was! He lifted others up around him and his smile was contagious! He wasn’t afraid to try new things! When I think of Kolten I think of blue FFA jackets, 4-H, rodeo, fair, horses, wrestling, country music and a friend to many! Rest In Peace Kolten Moss!

There is little anyone can say at times like this but know a lot of folks grieve with you. I can only offer condolences and a scripture that I pray will bring comfort. 1 Corinthians 2:9 ” … “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived the things God has prepared for those who love him … “

Our thoughts and prayers are with the loved ones and friends Kolten left behind. Although I did not know Kolten very long I could tell he was an amazing human. I only had the pleasure of seeing him at lunch time, I looked for him everyday because I knew he would be there to get his fix of onions and jalapenos to cover the food I cooked or the healthy meals his mom made during wresting season. He was just an all around cool person I wish I had know him better. He will be missed but never forgotten.
