Kelly Rae Lange

Kelly Rae Lange, 64, passed away on April 27, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona. She was born on March 13, 1962, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Clifford and Marlys Mathues. After graduating from Central High School, Kelly moved around before eventually settling in Laramie, Wyoming.

Kelly spent many meaningful years in Laramie, where she built a life centered around family, work, and community. She married Thomas Namie on August 3, 1991, and together they welcomed their daughter, Teah, on February 15, 1995. During their time in Wyoming, Tom, Kelly, and Teah enjoyed traveling and spending time in the mountains.

Throughout her life, Kelly held several jobs, but she especially enjoyed her time working with the Wyoming Department of Transportation Driver Services and the Laramie Police Department. She took pride in her work and the connections she made along the way.

In 2020, Kelly made a bold decision to embrace “fun in the sun” and purchased a home sight unseen in Mesa, Arizona. While building her new life there, she found love again and married Michael Lange on December 29, 2023. Although she made the difficult decision to retire early due to illness, that did not stop her and Mike from exploring Arizona and enjoying their shared love of golf.

Kelly was someone who truly loved being around people. She enjoyed shopping, socializing, and spending time with those she cared about. Her smile, warmth, and outgoing personality made her easy to love and hard to forget.

She is survived by her daughter, Teah Mitchell, and son-in-law, Joshua Mitchell; her beloved granddaughters, Fiona-Rose and Cora Mitchell; her husband, Michael Lange; her mother, Marlys Gschwend; her sister, Kristi Mondry (John Fitzgerald), and their children, Myranda and Marshall Mondry; her brother, Russ Mathues (Debbie), and their children, Cody (Lisa) Mathues, Cole (Felicia) Mathues, and Blake (Andrea) Mathues; as well as several close friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Mathues; her stepfather, Wayne Gschwend; her former husband, Thomas Namie; and her brother-in-law, David Mondry.

Kelly will be remembered for her love for family, her friendly spirit, and the joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the RV Center at Monte Vista RV Resort in Mesa, Arizona.

Sincere condolences for the loss of one so special in each of your lives. Know that the smiles, laughter, and kindness Kelly shared with others will be forever remembered by all who ever met her. May her memories forever warm your hearts and bring smiles to your faces, even behind tears shed. Know that death was never God’s plan (Gen. 1:28; Rom. 5:12), so he gives us hope; the hope that loved ones will be resurrected (Acts 24:15) to life forever on a paradise earth (Ps. 37:11,29) as God intended from the beginning. Cherish the hope and the fine memories of your beloved daughter/wife/mother/sister, Kelly.
