Jeannie K. (Collins) Vasquez

Jeannie K. (Collins) Vasquez, 74, of Laramie, Wyoming passed away on August 11th, 2022 at Ivinson Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on April 1, 1948 in Laramie to Thomas Collins and Mildred Hobbs.

 As a child, she was the poster child for the Shriner’s Hospital in Utah. Jeannie served many throughout her life while working as an environmental service technician at the University of Wyoming, Ivinson Memorial Hospital, and by running her own Daycare for almost 30 years. Jeannie’s main passion in life was her family, she also had passions for traveling, gambling, and food. Jeannie was a great cook and took pride in feeding her family. Jeannie devoted time as a proud member of the Eagles for many years. Jeannie’s home was open to all, and her heart of gold will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

She is preceded in death by her parents, great grandson Dreyk Vasquez, brother-in-law Alex Romero, and her son at heart, Art Johnson. 

She is survived by her children Rita Muniz (Jose), and Danny Vasquez; grandchildren, Tamika Vasquez (Guillermo), Mario Vasquez (Mercadez), Devon Vasquez (Shaina) , Angel Vasquez, Celina Vasquez (Rachel), Jose Muniz (Reanna), Kobi Vazquez (Bransyn), Adrian Muniz (Ali), Sam Lee, Wyatt Lee, Ciarra Vasquez, Alyxis Vasquez, great grandchildren, Hector Muniz, Valentin Muniz, Zosiah Garcia, Ryder Vasquez, Kash Vasquez, Brayden Vasquez, Eliannah Vigil, Amiyah Mann, Avani Mann, Benz Muniz, Kruz Muniz, Novellah Vasquez, Kailani White Eagle, and Hazel Greer. She is also survived by her sisters, Janet Collins, Karen Collins (John Miles), and Sally Romero.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2022 at the Laramie Valley Chapel. Inurnment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Meredith and Jeannie Ray Center Center, 255 N 30th Street Laramie, WY 82072
