Deborah Sharon Fluker died on the morning of December 4 from advanced kidney failure. She was born on December 16, 1957, in Virginia Beach, Virginia to Lt. Cmdr. James Andrew Fluker and Shirley M. Fluker. She lived in numerous cities in the U.S. as she followed her mother and father who was a naval officer, but considered Seattle, New York and Laramie her home.
She graduated from the University of Washington with a master’s in library science. Upon her graduation, she moved to New York City where she specialized as a research librarian for more than 20 years. She moved to Laramie in 2008 to be with her mother after her father died. She took a job as a librarian for WyoTech until her retirement.
Deb loved going to concerts and traveling, as well as spending time with her numerous pets. She was proceeded in death by her father James and mother Shirley. She leaves behind her beloved Chihuahuas Toby, Chanel, and Daisy.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2022, at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Deborah requested that a donation be made in her memory to the Laramie Animal Welfare Society.

Deb was a bright spot in my life. An amazing friend who loved others and always had a smile for them.

Debbie – I will always remember the time we spent together, stomping around the city, looking for children’s picture books to add to our respective collection, searching for the ‘prettiest’ Barbie (even though theoretically they all had the same face!) but mostly laughing and sharing stories with each other. Even today I was eating some mendiants and thought of you and how it was something you’d like because it was packaged so prettily. I will see you again but until then please watch over me. It was a pleasure to get to know Deb and to take care of her in dialysis before I moved. She was a beautiful person with a huge heart. RIP Deb.

I am so very sorry to hear we have lost such a bright soul. Debbie and her mother were my neighbors here in Laramie. Breaks my heart we have lost both of these beautiful ladies. I will miss them both. Gina Chavez-Armijo
