Anna Marie Mascareñas

Anna Mascareñas 90, died on May 8th, 2025. She was born in Chama, Colorado on April 18th, 1935, to Alfonso and Maggie Sanchez. On May 14th, 1955, Anna married Fred Mascareñas in Laramie. She was a longtime member of St. Laurence O’Toole Church and the Alter and Rosary Society.

Anna is survived by her husband Fred, four sons, Ernie (Carmen), Larry (Arlene), Gerry, and Michael (Katja Cooper) Mascareñas, one daughter Marlene Mascareñas, five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, one brother Steve (Charlene) Sanchez.

Anna is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Stella Suazo, brother-in-law Candido Suazo, and numerous other relatives.

The recitation of the rosary will be on Wednesday May 14th at 5:00 P.M. Funeral will be on Thursday May 15th at 10:00 A.M., both at St. Laurence O’Toole Church. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Laramie, 1754 Centennial Dr. Laramie, WY.

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. I would serve with her at masses and she was always so kind. She had a smile of her face whenever I saw her. God bless her soul and God watch over her family.

Gerry,so sorry to hear about your mom. I am glad I got to visit with her a couple of weeks ago. We had a great conversation about Chama and early days in Laramie.

To all of Anna’s beautiful family! Anna was one of my favorite people in St Laurence O’Toole parish. She had the sweetest smile and I just knew it was going to be a good day when I saw her. Anna and Fred were just the perfect couple. I have such great memories of you And think of you os often. May Anna rest in the peace and love o Virgin Mary and Jesus.

You have my deepest condolences. Sometimes there are no words for sympathy. Please know that I’m sure a lot of people will remember working with Anna at Ideal. Those are great memories. She is now in her perfect form and sitting next to Jesus.

Marlene, so sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. She was a loving gentle soul, she was funny and loved her family. She told great stories. Good bless her soul. She is resting in peace. I hope it gives you some peace that she is no longer suffering.

Our deepest condolences and sympathies to your family. We loved Anna so much not just as a cousin but as a trusted and warm person to our family, especially in times of need. Gerry … my condolences. Your mom always had a smile and a hug for me. When I was 16, I worked with her at Ideal. Through the years I would see her at mass, and lately at breakfast. I’m sure you all are devastated, but know that she is now in Gods embrace. RIP Ms Anna.
