So sorry to hear about Vanda's passing. I first met her in the early 1970s when she was working in the library and I was trying to find references for my master's degree. She got me through that experience before on-line searching was even thought of and I have always remembered her for that.

I am so saddened by the loss of a good friend. We grew up together as our mother's were best friends. Vonda taught me the difference between white milk and chocolate milk as you did need only white cow's white milk but you really did need chocolate cow's for that good chocolate milk. Lol And yes, I believed everyword. She was a very special lady and I'll miss her. Rest in peace Vonda, you are loved.

Went to school with Vanda. Such a sweet lady. Hugs to all of her family

  • Suzie (Maxfield) Hosier

Vanda and I went to high school together and I often found myself sitting behind her in our alphabetized seating rows. I always looked forward to seeing her at the high school reunions where at the fiftieth reunion her talents were well used at the check-in desk and she greeted all with the smile and kindness that were her trademark. My sincere condolences to her grieving family and friends...and a kiss to heaven for Vanda.

After losing contact after high school I was fortunate to become reacquainted with Vanda during planning for our 50 year class reunion. She volunteered for the task of greeting and registering attendees as they arrived. She became a Facebook friend and never failed to send me a message when she heard something about the latest Longmire book coming out. I treasure these memories of a truly kind lady.

My sincerest sympathy on the passing of your mom. A sweeter person did not exist. From grade school through high school, Vanda was always the go to person. Her smile and gentle heart made her a friend in so many circles that she carried into her adulthood. She will be missed so much. My life is better for having known her. God truly has a new angel.

There will never be enough words to explain what losing Aunt Vanda feels like but we hope with all our hearts that she is free and happy as can be.
