Roger Lynn Muffett

Roger Lynn Muffett, age 76, passed away suddenly on April 13, 2022.  He was an accomplished musician and songwriter, who found immense joy in his love for music.  Throughout his life, he played in many bands with a number of long-time friends, whom he loved dearly.  He moved from his hometown in Hammond, Indiana, to Estes Park, Colorado, and eventually to Laramie, Wyoming, where he enjoyed the mountains and the outdoors.  He was an avid baseball and football fan, especially Denver Broncos, Wyoming Cowboys, and any football team his nephew, Grant, was coaching.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis (Scott) and Loretta Muffett, his daughter, Michelle Muffett-Lipinski, and five grandchildren, Lindsey and Abigail Muffett, and Alexandra, Jake, and Theodore Lipinski. He is also survived by his devoted sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and John Zgunda, their three children and their spouses, Greg, Gary, and Kathy, and Grant and Becky, and many nieces and nephews.

For the last decade of his life, Roger found recovery and was proud and supportive of Northshore Recovery High School, where his daughter is the principal.  NSRHS uses the arts, specifically music, to foster young peoples’ recovery from substance use.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to www.nsedu.org or Northshore Recovery High School, 112 Sohier Road, Beverly, MA 01915.

A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date.
