LARAMIE, Wyo. — Robert William Ramlo, 61, passed into God’s hands on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at his home in Laramie, Wyoming with family at his side, after a courageous fight with cancer.

He was born on Sept. 19, 1958 in Oelwein, Iowa.

He leaves his parents Clarion and Barbara (Heuser) Ramlo of Oelwein, Iowa, brother Mark Ramlo of Spring Lake Park, Minn., daughter Samantha Ramlo of Laramie (dogs Blu and Maggie), niece Sylvia Ramlo of Spring Lake Park, nephew Eric Keeley of Chicago, Uncle and Aunt Bernell and Milly Ramlo of Decorah, Iowa, Randy and Lisa Ramlo of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Terry Ramlo of Decorah, Brenda Ramlo of Decorah and David Ramlo of Dillon, Colo., Uncle and Aunt Don and Diane Ekquist of Media, Pa., Uncle and Aunt Loren and Jeannie Ekquist of Sterling, Ill., Aunt Wanetta Lester of Cheyenne, Aunt and Uncle Deloris and Armand LeBlanc of Prescott, Ariz.

Robert graduated of Oelwein High School in 1977, worked for the Great Western Railway until they closed, then drove semi for several years. He then moved to Laramie, where he worked construction, worked at a lumber yard then worked for Albany County Road and Bridge for 19 years, the past 3 years were spent working for GM of Laramie.

Robert was a great fan of NASCAR, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time with his dogs. He enjoyed his Corvette and attended many Corvette shows in Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado and won many trophies. He also belonged to a Corvette Club called Classic Glass in Cheyenne, where he served as president several times and also held other club offices.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Laramie, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Children’s Hospital in Aurora, Colorado would be appreciated. Donations can be sent to them at 1501 S Potomac St, Aurora, CO 80012.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Gladys Ramlo, Gus and Hazel Heuser, Aunt Marilyn Ramlo, Uncle Peter Ramlo, father-in-law Martin Walters and brother-in-law Todd Walters, Uncle Bernard Bean, Uncle Richard Bean, Aunt Lorna Hack, and his many pets.

    Thoughts and prayers are with your family. I have many memories growing up in church with Bob. He was always a kind person. Hold your memories close to your heart, as he will always be by your side.
