Robert K Peterson “Bob” of Laramie passed away on November 29, 2021, at lvinson Memorial Hospital.
Bob was born March 12, 1949, in Lewellen, Nebraska to Robert and Marjorie Peterson. At a young age they moved to Laramie where they owned and operated Pete’s Hideout, as well as the Tomahawk Souvenir Shop.
Bob attended Laramie public schools, graduating with the Class of 1967 from Laramie High School. In 1971 he married Cyd Henan, to this union two children were born, Randy and Chrystal. Bob and Cyd later divorced.
Bob worked many jobs around Laramie, Monolith Cement Plant, Holland Cleaners, Gillette Office Supply, lvinson Memorial Hospital and Albertson’s Liquor Store to name a few. While working many of these jobs he opened and operated Albany Security Services which he started doing “Door Shakes” for many Laramie businesses advancing to Armored Car Services. After closing the Security business, he began
the last of his career working for the Albany County Sheriff’s office where he was Civil Processor Server for ten years, retiring on January 2, 2021.
In 2003, he met and started dating Debbie Pickett, they were later married in August 2017. The two of them enjoyed many trips to the mountains because there was always a dirt road he hadn’t been on yet! They also enjoyed many trips around the state on his Harley Davidson. His interests included making Windchimes out of oxygen bottles, guns, both owning and shooting, and woodworking.
Anyone who knew Bob appreciated his robust laugh, strong handshake or if you were one of the lucky ones, one of his “Healing Hugs”. If you were lucky enough to be considered his friend, you were a friend for life.
Preceded in death were his parents, older sister Betty Harrington and brother-in-law William Harrington.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Pickett of Laramie, son Randy Peterson (Lisa Ojeda) of Cheyenne, daughter Chrystal Brown (Cody) of Gillette, Granddaughters Alisa Brown (Taylor Begay) of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Shelby Garcia (Javier) of Gillette.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Lincoln Community Center.

It is with a very heavy heart that I offer my deepest condolences. I met Bob in junior high school and we have been friends ever since. Bob always had a smile and something funny or uplifting to say. May your fond memories of Bob help you through this difficult time.

I was so saddened to here of Bob’s passing, he was a wonderful guy. I had the pleasure of knowing him at Ivinson Hospital, you could always count on Bob, he was “one of the good ones”. My deepest condolences to his wife and family.

Bob was always so fun to bump into. He was one of my friends that if we saw each other we would stop and have a good conversation. I always yelled a loud “Bob!” at him and that was our joke. I was so shocked to see this obituary. My heart goes out his wife, his family and my friend and his daughter Crystal.

I have known Bob for many years, worked for him and we were neighbors for a few years. Bob was one of the good guys and you could always depend on him, he was always willing to give a helping hand. His big hugs and sense of humor will be missed.

Deb, Chrystal and family, Denise and I were shocked to hear of Bob’s passing. Bob was always available if there was a need. He has left a void in the Laramie community and will be missed by so many. Very disheartened to hear of Bob’s passing. I remember Bob all the way from high school. In fact he was in some college classes at UWwith me. We even worked at the old Holland Cleaners together. I am so going to miss that magnificent sense of humor of Bob’s.

Bob was very proud of his family and would tell anyone how great they were. It touched my heart to hear his love for you all. He’ll surely be missed and I pray that happy memories of Bob will comfort you. Whenever I hear a big laugh, I will remember him fondly.

Bob always had a joke and laugh to give out whenever and wherever you met him. Met him when he started Albany Security and knew then that he was a good, honest person and we became friends, but Bob was like that with everyone, I never met anyone that did not like him.
It was always good to run into Debbie and Bob at different restaurants and to chat with for a bit.
Debbie, I am so sorry for your loss and know that you are heart broken and I don’t think you ever get over that, but it gets easier with time.

So sorry to hear about Bob. Got to know Bob really well, when him and Cyd lived in Bottom Mobile home Park. My dad and him had a great relationship as well as our whole family. Even when I moved away from Laramie, I kept in touch with Bob through modern technology Facebook. Debbie, was a West Laramie neighbor and as a youngster played tons of football in her backyard. Bob was a fantastic person and will be missed as a true good and amazing human being. Margie, Cindy and myself Tommy express our deepest condolences and love to the family. Remember Bob is not gone, Our amazing memories of him Will live on forever!

My heart will forever miss Bob; he was much more to me than a good friend; he was a mentor of hard work and love for his children. Bob always made you feel part of that family, with a joke or ridiculous comment that would erupt in laughter and love. “Look, it is snowing softly” was a comment I made, and Bob reminded me of such conversations 35 years later. Randy, Chrystal, and family, I send you my deepest condolences and sympathy. I pray that each of you can heal your broken hearts and find comfort knowing your Dad, Husband, or Grandfather will never be forgotten in my heart. May each of you be blessed with fond memories forever of Bob’s great laughter and smile.

I was a high school friend of “Peter” we called him. We had so much fun in his cars. I remember us driving down second street in his 57 Ford. He would turn the car off and coast a ways then turn it on and it would backfire, scarring anyone within a block! He had the best laugh! He will be missed. My condolences to his family.

I am still trying to figure out how someone as ornery, caring, fun loving , and sincere like Bob could leave us!! I will always remember the color he added to the hospital atmosphere and how everyone loved him, Dang it Bob! you were suppose to be around forever!! Thank you for all of these amazing tributes to Bob. He was always larger than life, one of the most caring, kind and generous people I have ever known. Always teased him that when he met someone, if he didn’t know them, he would by the end of the conversation. I am very sorry we only had 18 years together. I would of truly liked 10 – 15 at least more. One thing Bob showed me was to not be afraid to show feelings for your loved ones. If your significant other or spouse wants to hold your hand, do it, don’t pull away. You never know when the last chance to do that will be. He will be forever missed.

Just found out yesterday that Bob has left us. We enjoyed many good times when he would visit our gun store here in Cheyenne. We shall all remember him fondly and are proud to have had him as a friend.

I loved being around Bob. He was always busy nut never too busy to at least say Hi. He was upbeat whenever we met and shared his handshake, his joy and laughter. He changed uniforms as he worked for different companies and agencies but he never changed in being a friend, a professional and upright.

I just learned of Bob’s passing. Jeez how I miss his visits to my office with always something funny to say and that wry smile of his. Truly a wonderful person!!! We all will be poorer with him not around to make us smile
