Richard Van Horn Mutz

Richard Van Horn Mutz, 82, of Medicine Bow, WY died December 8, 2021, in Cheyenne. He was born August 11, 1939, in Easton, PA.

He grew up in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and later enlisted in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic. After the service he moved to Laramie and became a Police Officer and Highway Patrol Officer. 

He later left law enforcement and went to work for Arch Mineral in Carbon County, becoming a heavy machinery operator and professional welder. 

He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his children, Richard Mutz (Ursula) of Virginia, Raymond Mutz of Wyoming, Frank Mutz of Missouri, and Douglas Mutz (Rochelle) of Connecticut.; his seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and his significant other, Peggy Laux.
