Nadia Kotby

Nadia Kotby, 98, died on May 28, 2021 in Laramie, Wyoming.

She was born October 27, 1922 in Alexandria, Egypt to Wahba Awad and Noor Mansour.

Nadia was raised in Alexandria, attending and completing her education at the Lycee Francais there.

Nadia married Gamal Kotby in Alexandria in 1944. She was a devoted wife and mother, and dedicated her time to raising her family, and supporting her husband’s businesses. Throughout their married life, Nadia and Gamal traveled extensively and made many friends all over the world. They lived in Egypt, Tripoli, Libya, and Neu Isenberg, Germany before settling in Laramie to be closer to their sons and their families.

Nadia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gamal; her son, Mohamed; brothers Adl and Ahmed; and sisters Fawkia, Madiha, and Aleya.

She is survived by her son Sam and daughter-in-law Linda of Laramie; granddaughters Kenzie Gard (Jeremy), of Steamboat, CO and Jihan Kotby of Denver, CO; grandson Tarek (TJ) Kotby of Minneapolis, MN; twin granddaughters Scarlett and Emilia Gard of Steamboat; other family members: Nohad Hammad of Egypt; Robalee Gillen and her family of Bonanza, OR; and numerous nieces and nephews in Egypt.

A celebration of life will be held June 23, 2021 from 5-7:30 pm at the home of Sam and Linda at 2525 Skyview Lane, Laramie. All are welcome.
