Marilyn Larson was one of a kind. Even Dean Sam Hakes insisted she was the one who really ran the Collegeof Engineering. He used to say that not only did she “know where all the bodies were buried...she helped put them there!” In truth, she was excellent at her very demanding job. I was terrified when I started to work in the Dean’s Office, but quickly discovered Marilyn’s nutty sense of humor. I cobwebbed her office my first Halloweeen there...even included some rubber rats and spiders. Everyone assured me she would kill me on the spot!! Instead, she laughed uproariously. A great lady ....a legendary figure at UW.
