Marilyn Hardy Werner

Marilyn Hardy Werner of Chicago, IL and most recently Laramie, WY, crossed over peacefully in her sleep on 11-10-2017. She was 90 years young.
She leaves behind her loving family — son Richard and his wife Sandi; daughter Sandra and her husband Jim; son William and his wife Marcia; and daughter Lindy and her husband Tony. Granddaughter Amanda and husband Colin; granddaughter Britt and her husband Dave; grandson Colton, granddaughter Valerie and her husband Matt; grandson Thomas; great-grandchildren Matt and Ava. Loving sister Arlene, and childhood friends Sister Marcella and Betty O’Rourke, cousin Kenneth and wife Jerilynn also celebrate her life.
Marilyn was a proud and contributing member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. She has worked at the National Livestock and Meat Board Federation of America; UOP; American Farm Bureau; Boye Needle Company; and Patterson Printing.
Marilyn was warm hearted and mischievous, clever, and well read. She was an artist, and she loved clouds and all animals, especially cats. She collected music boxes and enjoyed working on our genealogy with her late brother Donald. She was the matriarch of our family and went happily to join our ancestors. She was kind to everybody, and will be very, very missed. Bright blessings, Mom, Grandma, Nana and Great-Grandma.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Laramie (hospiceoflaramie.com).

I have been searching for words since I learned of Marilyn's passing, and all I can think of to say is that I feel so blessed to have met her. She had such a wonderful way of making one feel welcomed, and that one mattered. I will miss her, and cherish my memories of time shared with her.

We send our condolences and love and light to to all of Marilyn's family. Her spirit will live on through us all for a very long time. I am grateful for the friendship I had with Marilyn and will miss her beautiful smile. I always appreciated her enthusiasm to help out at drum circles for seniors. I love you Mom.

I loved her smile she was always so cute in the pictures Sandy would send. She was a great lady who will be missed much by her family.

I remember Marilyn as a sweet woman, kind, caring, with a g great smile. Having known two of her children, I'd heard stories of/about her for years before I met her. The stories were correct. She was indeed worth knowing. I think I will always be able to picture her in my mind the day Lindy brought her to my farm for a 'craft day'. What is remembered lives.
