Jodi Ann Oder-Mauk

Jodi Ann Oder-Mauk 54, of Burns, died Monday, March 19, 2018 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
She was born on April 12, 1963 in Laramie to Loyd and Monnie (Sharp) Loftis.
Jodi grew up in Laramie where she met and later married Steve Oder in October of 1981. They soon then relocated to Oklahoma and had two children together, Kim and Shawn. They spent countless nights under the stars, along the creek with people she loved. Some time had passed and returned to Laramie. She went through a divorce. Jodi then met and married David Mauk April of 2013. Looking forward to their morning cups of coffee, enjoyed their long talks, and traveling to places she had never seen.
Jodi treasured her grandchildren. Spent every minute she could with them. All to find out most times she was out numbered and waited patiently for the time they went home. Family meant a lot to her. Often times her glare light up the room and her words were wise.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Floyd Loftis; her sister, Sharon Beliaj; and her nephew, Jod Beliaj.
Jodi is survived by her husband, David Mauk; her children children Kim Oder and Shawn Oder, stepsons James and Ben Mauk; stepdaughter Brittany Mauk; her grandchildren, Aubrey Rockwell, Tayren, Dakotah and Bryce Smith; Chadrick and Breydin Oder all of Laramie; step grandchildren Heraldo Jr Max Abby and Lily Whitson; her brother, Gary Loftis of Oklahoma; her favorite niece Shelly Wood (Tommy) as well as numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Lifelong friend Jonnetta Marquis and many other friends she held dear to her heart.
Jodi had a heart of gold. Her love was never ending. So suddenly, gone. Wings of an angel she had become. Heavens gates opened that day. The Lord had called her home. Rising above the clouds to far to see. Among all the angels that got there before her. The Lord held out his hand as he guided her home. Fear for her not as she will be gone tomorrow, forever she will be in our hearts.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 30, 2018 at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Moore, officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jodi Oder Memorial Fund c/o Laramie Plains Credit Union.

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to all of Jodi’s family. For right now, there’s no detour around grief, no shortcut through mourning. However, 2 Cor.4:7 says that God can give us, “... power beyond what is normal “, to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget. It means we recover. We recover because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28 which says, “... all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out “. Jesus was referring to the resurrection. That is our amazing hope! The Bible likens our hope to an anchor. Just like an anchor stabilizes a ship, our hope stabilizes us and keeps us from drowning in overwhelming sadness. 2 Cor.1:3 describes our Creator as, “...the God of all comfort “. One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort be your comfort now, during this time of sorrow.
