Jarrett Dogie Parten

On Wednesday, September 7th, 2022, Jarrett Dogie Parten, JD to his friends, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

JD was born on February 15th, 1937, in Bisbee, AZ to Hayes and Margaret Parten. In 1957 he married Lupe Martinez. JD opened Parten Signs in 1961 and was a sign painter for the University of Wyoming. His signs could be found throughout Laramie and the state of Wyoming.

JD was a devout Jehovah’s Witness. JD liked to stay busy in his younger days it was motorcycle riding later in life he enjoyed restoring his 1951 Ford Crestliner.

JD inspired and touched the lives of everyone he met to the very end. He always put the needs of others first. JD was known for his quick wit, lovable sayings, infectious smile, honesty and kind compassionate personality. JD lived a memorable life.  None of us will forget the wonderful stories he would tell of his youth.

JD is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lupe, brother Hayes, granddaughter Sienna.

JD is survived by his six children, daughters Valorie, Melody, Troylene, Trisha, and sons Jarrett and Mark. His sister Margie Wood, brothers Mike Anderson, Pat Anderson, sixteen grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

 A private burial service will be held for the family. A memorial will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on October 8th at 1:00 pm.
